Teak Seed Powder is used for anernia,inflammatory swellings, skin itching, dysentery and woodies good for headache,biliousness, burning sensation  pain, and liver related troubles.

A Natural Habitat: Tropical regions with wet and dry seasons and well drained soil; reportedly, best produced on calcareous soils; propagation by seed.

Teak Seed Powder Mostly Use: One of the most important commercial timbers of the tropics; very attractive wood, used in high value, fine furniture, and for home, office and boat paneling; timber also valued for ship-building, railway ties, dock piles and other light and heavy construction; young leaves and bark of root yield yellowish-brown dye; also used as ornamental for its large, attractive leaves;medicinally, all plant parts used in India, including powdered wood used as a laxative and in treatment of hemorrhoids; flowers used for bronchitis.

A fruit is quadrangular, 3 cm in diameter; bark is thin like paper; outer layer hairy. Seed number 1-2. and the winter, dark brown fruits are seen hanging on the tree. This plant depends on the air for spreading its seeds. It is mentioned in the Veda and Ayurveda as Shak.

Propagation of the plant is caused by seeds and stump cuttings. The flower and seed are used in blood dysentery, scabies, headache, worm, urinary problem and spraining. the Oil of seed is used to prevent balding and promote hair growth and  Juice of leaves is used to dye silk thread. A kind of tar is extracted from timber. Its perfumed wood is durable and well-decorated.

Seed – fresh seed is more difficult to germinate than seed that has been stored for 12 months. If it is necessary to use fruits from the same year they were collected, then they should be subjected to alternate wetting then drying for 24 hours each for 14 days.Stored seed germinates best if soaked for 24 – 48 hours in warm water, prior to sowing, changing the water frequently.
